I’ve always tended to gravitate towards the potato salad when it comes to a picnic or buffet table. There is something about a perfectly cooked and soft potato mixed with a creamy sauce that gets me every time. I mean EVERY time!

I’m going to be perfectly honest with you here (as I always am). This recipe idea for Strawberry Orange Pie Cake is not my own. I saw it in one of my back issues of Food Network Magazine and thought it looked like something I wanted to try. I did, however, adapt the recipe ingredients and also put my own touch on the lattice pie crust topping with those cute little strawberry accents to up the cuteness factor.
Since we live in the Midwest, my husband and I are all about sausages. He’s partial to Italian sausage, and I’m partial to bratwurst. I can easily eat a sausage without a bun to keep the carb level low, but he’s all about a bread and meat combo.
