How this recipe came to be:
We had ordered some green bean fries as an appetizer at a local restaurant and they came along with a whiskey dipping sauce.
We enjoyed the appetizer SO much that I immediately came home and did my best to duplicate the green bean fries recipe (pictured down below) along with today's recipe for Irish Whiskey dipping sauce.
I'm very proud of both of these recipes, and I dare say they rival (or even surpass) what we had at our local restaurant.
How long will this whiskey sauce keep in the refrigerator?
Store it in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
What can I use whiskey sauce/glaze on?
The first thing I thought to use this glaze on was shrimp (recipe coming soon), but it will also work wonderfully well on virtually any seafood you can think of.
You can use it as a baste during cooking or as a dip when serving.
This Irish whiskey glaze will also taste amazing on chicken, pork, and even beef.
What type of whiskey works best for this recipe?
I used Jameson's Irish whiskey because that's what I had on hand and that's what they'd used in the restaurant we visited.
However, feel free to use whatever whiskey you like best and have on hand.
How long does this recipe take to make?
It's super quick. Probably 15 minutes, tops!
Of course, you need to cool it completely before refrigerating, but you can also use it right away if you're not storing it first.
