How this cocktail recipe came to be:

I wanted to come up with an original and fun cocktail idea that would be enjoyable to serve at an awards ceremony party such as the Oscars.

What I wrote about this recipe post in 2016:

Do you get excited about watching all the award show ceremonies, and are you a movie hound?

I'm not exactly a movie hound, but I do enjoy watching all the glitz and glamour that Hollywood parades down the red carpet several times a year.

The award shows themselves are okay to watch, but usually very, very long and (in my opinion) a bit boring.

This is why I much prefer watching the pre-show festivities out on the carpet.

It's fun to try and imagine myself walking the red carpet, hobnobbing with all the stars, wearing fabulous gowns, and dripping in jewels and diamonds.

    A girl can dream, right?

This year I only saw two of the movies that are nominated for best picture; The Martian, and The Revenant.

I truly enjoyed both movies, but for entirely different reasons.

However, looking back on each, I'm finding that they are somewhat similar in the fact that each depicts a man who is fighting against all odds to keep himself alive, and both movies (and men) show the resiliency, and beauty, of the human spirit.

That alone deserves a prosecco cocktail! LOL

When to serve a prosecco cocktail with pineapple and amaretto?

This delicious prosecco cocktail can be awarded to anyone 21 and over for any occasion you care to commemorate.

Think college graduation, you deserve an award!

A job promotion, you deserve an award!

A birthday or golden anniversary..better break out the champagne flutes.

And for persevering, even when times were their at toughest, and for coming out the other side even stronger than before, YOU deserve an award!!!

Can another type of sparkling wine be used for this cocktail?

    You bet!

You can even use champagne if you're feeling extra bougie and festive!

The step-by-step photo instructions for making a golden statue prosecco cocktail:

    • Place about a tablespoon of honey and a tablespoon of granulated sugar into two small bowls or plates.
    • Dip the rim of each glass into the honey first, and then into the granulated sugar.
    • Allow to dry for about 5 minutes.

    • Place about 3-4 frozen chunks of pineapple into each glass.
    • Pour approximately one ounce of amaretto, and approximately two ounces of pineapple juice into each glass.

    • Fill the glass with prosecco and garnish the rim with an additional piece of frozen pineapple.

This drink is gorgeous. The prettier the better for me when it comes to booze.

I'm not watching the awards this year. I didn't see enough to the films this time around. I'm so behind on my moving going.

I loved The Martian, too! I love space movies. They're the only moves I actually go and see at a theater. 😉 And this cocktail sounds so delicious!
