How long does it take to make crunchy savory oyster crackers?
Approximately 20 minutes.
Add about 5 extra minutes if you're making my Homemade Everything Seasoning Blend (pictured below).
Can store-bought everything seasoning be used instead of homemade?
Yes, but they won't be as good. (I may be partial. LOL!)
How to store everything oyster cracker snacks?
I recommend storing them in an air-tight containers at room temperature.
How long will everything oyster cracker snacks keep fresh?
As long as they're stored in an air-tight container, they should stay fresh and crunchy for easily 2 weeks or more.
Can other types of crackers be used for this cracker snack recipe?
Sure! I don't see why not.
I chose oyster crackers because they're easy to fit a bunch into the palm of your hand for easier snacking.
That said, feel free to experiment. Just remember to keep your crackers in a shallow layer while baking so they'll crisp up nicely.
Also, depending on the replacement cracker size (and the amount you're using) you may need to adjust the measurements of the other ingredients in this recipe so your preferred crackers all get a decent coating of oil and seasonings.
Would these seasoned oyster cracker snacks make a nice gift?
Oh heck yeah!
Why not think about wrapping, boxing, or packing a gift basket with some Everything Oyster Cracker Snacks along with a 6 pack of flavored soda, beer, or even wine (depending on who you're gifting)?
You can also put some Homemade Everything Seasoning in a decorative air-tight jar for gifting along with some unpopped popcorn, some flavored oil for popping.
How very thoughtful of you!!

I love everything seasoning, so I was anxious to try these. I was disappointed, because much of the seasoning didn’t stick to the crackers. Instead, the seeds fell to the bottom of the pan and were almost burned. I’m going to try to tweak this recipe because I love the idea of these.
Renée says
Sorry you were disappointed. Maybe adding more oil would be helpful. I was happy with how mine turned out so I didn't fool with the recipe.
Feel free to add your own twist.
Thanks for your comment.
Take care,
Renee
PAULA GEISTFELD says
Grind the Everything Bagel seasoning (mini coffee grinder or spice grinder). It will then all be uniform and stick like a powder 🙂
Renée says
Very good idea, Paula.
Thanks for sharing that tip with my readers.

Shannon says
I was disappointed Ted for the same reason. I feel like I wasted all my ingredients because it didn’t stick to the crackers. I wish I had read reviews prior to making. I may have ground my spices as was recommended in the previous review. I don’t give this a good rating for that reason. Also was very salty.
Renée says
I am very sorry you were unhappy with this recipe, Shannon.
I didn't have this problem when I made them, but since there has been more than one person with this issue, I will rewrite and rework the recipe.
Thank you for letting me know.

Sydnie says
I love this! So excited to make some at my house!
Renée says
You're going to be so happy with them, Sydnie!!
Enjoy!
Laura says
This will be good but your oven temp is way too high. I’d lower it to 250 and really watch it or perhaps do it in a microwave. I think the lower temp will help the seasoning stick better.
Renée says
Feel free to experiment to see what works best for you.
If anything, I'd lower the temperature to 325 degrees and leave them in for a longer time.
I'm not sure a microwave would be the answer, but give it a go and see what happens.
Take care,
Renee
