    Fruit and Veggie Smoothie

Taking care of your body from the inside out is the most important thing you can do. This Fruit and Veggie Smoothie makes it easy...and delicious!

    Blueberry and Broccoli Smoothie Recipe

*Disclaimer - This recipe was originally published in 2013. I'm working hard to update all my older recipes with recipe cards, new photos, and additional recipe information. But, getting to all of them will take time. Please bear with me. In the meantime let me assure you that this recipe is still a winner and one I'm sure you'll be well pleased with when you make it at home.

If you're looking to take charge of your health and do some really wonderful things for your body, I suggest your start with smoothies!

Making and drinking smoothies is different (and so much more beneficial) from plain juicing because different from juicing, you're getting all the wonderful health benefits the fiber in fruits and vegetables naturally have that you'd otherwise be discarding with ordinary juicing.

When blending your fruits and vegetables you completely break down their nutrients into a cellular level resulting in immediate absorption and health benefits for your body.

Add the following ingredients into a high-speed blender (your call on the amounts) along with 2-3 cups of water and blend until smooth. Makes 4 large servings. Perfect for the whole family, or store the remainder in a covered pitcher in the fridge for up 24 hours.

Blueberries are shown to improve cognitive brain and memory function and also to support healthy blood pressure.

Spinach is an excellent source of beta-carotene and has been shown to reduce the risk of cataracts. It also brings relief from dry, itching skin.

Apples have been shown to reduce cholesterol and help detoxify the liver.

Pears are highly beneficial to colon health due to their high fiber content. Pears also contain boron which prevents or retards osteoporosis.

Broccoli is an excellent source of calcium and vitamin C. Broccoli also protects the skin against the effects of UV light thereby helping to prevent skin cancer.

If those aren't enough reasons to blend up this smoothie, I don't know how many more you need 🙂

Remember that your improved health, anti-aging benefits, and renewed energy level start with just the first sip so...drink up!
