Sparkling Blackberry Limeade is fruity, refreshing, and takes only minutes to make thanks to the use of limeade frozen concentrate and lemon-lime soda.

In the heat of summer, there is nothing better than sipping on an ice cold beverage you can feel good about drinking.
Here are a few of my other favorites that I know you'll also enjoy: Peach Basil Lemonade, Low-Sugar Pink Lemonade with Strawberry Simple Syrup, and Sun Tea with Peach and Raspberry.

Ingredient information:
BLACKBERRIES - I used almost the entire pint package of fresh blackberries, except for the few I kept aside for the hero photos you see here.
When using fresh berries for this beverage, you must muddle them (i.e., smash them) to release their flavor (and to take out your aggression).
LIMES - There is nothing like the flavor of fresh citrus. There is no comparison between it (fresh) and citrus juice from a bottle.
I encourage you to use fresh lime juice if possible. You'll need between 3 and 4 fresh limes for this limeade recipe.
After squeezing the fresh limes, I added the remains into the pitcher and muddled the last bit of juice and flavor that I could before continuing with the other ingredients. I encourage you to do the same.
LIMEADE FROZEN CONCENTRATE - I didn't add any additional sweeteners to this summertime cooler. The mild sweetness comes from the sweeteners already in the frozen concentrate.
Using frozen limeade concentrate to make this blackberry limeade is my quick hack that beats the heck out of squeezing tons of limes to get zesty lime flavor.
LEMON-LIME SODA - I used a full 2-liter bottle of diet lemon-lime soda pop for this recipe. If you choose to use a regular lemon-lime soda, that's entirely up to you.
The soda adds the sparkle and the extra refreshing flavor that makes this blackberry limeade a complete standout from all the rest.

What is muddling, and how should it be done?
Muddling is a technique primarily used in beverage making to smash and crush fruits, berries, and herbs to release their flavors and aromas.
Muddling the blackberries and lime rinds can be done directly into the serving pitcher (as shown in the video), or you can muddle them into a bowl and add the muddled ingredients into the pitcher afterwards.
You'll notice in the video that I used a cooking ladle to muddle the ingredients, but in a pinch, you can also use a rolling pin or wooden spoon if you don't have a specific muddler for the job.
Add-in or substitution suggestions:
Add and muddle strawberries, blueberries, lemons, and oranges.
Feel free to use your favorite variety of soda in place of the lemon-lime.
Cream soda would be delicious, as would ginger ale or even sparkling water.
How much blackberry limeade does this recipe make?
As written, this recipe makes approximately a half gallon of sparkling blackberry limeade.
If you need to increase the amount of blackberry limeade, you can easily double or triple this recipe.
How long will this non-alcoholic summer sparkler stay fresh in the fridge?
Keep the limeade covered in an airtight pitcher in the fridge, and it will last for 2 to 3 days.
Can frozen blackberries be used in this recipe?
They sure can.
Thaw the blackberries slightly first so they'll release their juices once muddled.
