Choc-O-Licious Cookie Bars

These cookies bars are on over-load when it comes to sweet, melted chocolate.  They’re soft and chewy yet have an ever so slight crunch from the added pecan chips.  The contrast of textures and flavors are enough to send you running for another bar… and a large glass of milk!

                   Loaded Chocolate Cookie Bar Recipe


2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cups unsalted butter, softened
1-1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 12 oz. package mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter chips
1/2 cup chopped pecan pieces

-Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
-grease a 13×9 inch baking pan.
-Stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
-Cream the butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
-Add the eggs, milk and vanilla to the butter and sugar mixture and continue blending until completely combined.
-Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients on slow speed, mixing well.
-Stir in the chocolate chips, peanut butter chips and chopped pecans.
-Spread into your prepared and and bake for approximately 35-40 minuted or until lightly browned and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
-Cool on a wire rack.
-Cut into bars or squares.
-Go get your milk.

*Special note – These will not last long.  Make sure you save some for your oldest son who is coming over for a visit today (even if it means slapping your husband’s hands away 🙂
