*Disclaimer - This recipe was originally published in 2014. I'm working hard to update all my older recipes with recipe cards, new photos, and additional recipe information. But, getting to all of them will take time. Please bear with me. In the meantime let me assure you that this recipe is still a winner and one I'm sure you'll be well pleased with when you make it at home.

For all you die-hard peanut butter and chocolate lovers out there, this creamy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Ice Cream recipe is for you!!

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Recipe

    PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE CHIP ICE CREAM    {PRINT THIS RECIPE}
Makes: approximately 2 quarts     Prep Time: 10 minutes       Freeze Time: 40 minutes, minimum

1 ¼ cups creamy peanut butter
    ½ cup granulated sugar
    ½ teaspoon kosher salt
    2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
    2 cups half-and-half
    2 cups 2% milk
    1 can sweeten condensed milk
2 ½ cups milk chocolate chips

-Using a handheld mixer, or a stand mixer on medium speed with the paddle attachment, cream together the peanut butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla until smooth.
-Adjust the mixer speed to low and slowly beat in the half-and-half, 2% milk, and sweetened condensed milk. Continue to blend until the mixture is thoroughly combined.
-Pour the peanut butter mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufactures directions. (approximately 35-40 minutes) At this point, the ice cream will be soft.
-Transfer the ice cream to a large, lidded container, and stir in the milk chocolate chips.
-The ice cream can be eaten now, or you can cover and freeze it for an additional 4-6 hours (overnight is ideal) for harder, scoopable ice cream.
    -Enjoy!

Can I just say how much I love that this isn't a custard-based ice cream? That means I'm one step closer to getting this in mah belleh, which is always a priority as far as ice cream is concerned. I totally want to take a swan dive into that big bowl of gorgeousness!

As if anyone could wait the 4 to 6 hours for it to become more scoopable. Ha! I'll take the soft-serve version with a great big spoon.

I'm not usually a big sweets fan Jamie but this ice cream is not overly sweet. It's more peanut buttery which is just the way I like things 🙂
