    Herbed Butter and Cheese Popcorn

    And the winner of the best tasting movie or awards shows snack goes to - Herbed Butter and Cheese Popcorn!

    *Disclaimer - This recipe was originally published in 2014. I'm working hard to update all my older recipes with recipe cards, new photos, and additional recipe information. But, getting to all of them will take time. Please bear with me. In the meantime let me assure you that this recipe is still a winner and one I'm sure you'll be well pleased with when you make it at home.

    The Sunday Supper gang is hosting an Oscar party for this year's Academy Award night, and you're invited! Come on along with us and take a walk down the red carpet to see who's serving what for the big occasion. But don't forget to wear your best smile for the paparazzi, and a big appetite for the food. It's going to be a menu to remember.

    I don't know about you, but popcorn is my snack of choice while watching any movie. I'm not so much a snowcap or gummy bear eater when the lights go down, but I am all about the popcorn and the butter. It's for that reason that my contribution for the #SundaySupper red carpet party is this Herbed Butter and Cheese popcorn. It's a winner in my book (and hopefully yours too)!

    HERBED BUTTER AND CHEESE POPCORN    {PRINT THIS RECIPE}

    10-12 cups popped corn (microwave or stovetop version)
    1 stick butter
    2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
    2-3 large fresh sage leaves
    2-3 sprigs of fresh thyme
    salt
    pepper
    ½ cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese

    -In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter along with the herbs. Allow the butter to cool slightly with the herbs for about 10 minutes. Remove the herbs.

    -In a large bowl, toss the popcorn evenly with the herbed butter and season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss with the Parmesan cheese and serve.

      Mmmm... this look amazing! I'm so happy to see sage in there, which I'd never think of adding to popcorn. Brilliant!

      I've tried herbed popcorn before but wasn't a fan - I like your version of "steeping" the herbs in the butter first. I'll have to give it another shot. Because, yes, popcorn is the best movie snack of all time!

      YUM! I love making popcorn, but your additions, esp the rosemary make me want to make it right now!

      I love the idea to perfume your butter with herbs and I'll have to try it the next time I make myself a bowl of popcorn.
