    Peach BBQ Sauce

Feel like getting a little saucy? Good! Me too!! Peach BBQ Sauce is just the thing to get you out of your old BBQ sauce rut.

A glass bowl filled with Peach BBQ Sauce with an orange next to it.

*Disclaimer - This recipe was originally published in 2013. I'm working hard to update all my older recipes with recipe cards, new photos, and additional recipe information. But, getting to all of them will take time. Please bear with me. In the meantime let me assure you that this recipe is still a winner and one I'm sure you'll be well pleased with when you make it at home.

I made this sauce to accompany a pork roast but I'm thinking it would go great with any protein you feel like slathering it on.

Oh, the thought of it on a nice thick, grilled tuna steak has me just about swooning as I type...

    HOMEMADE PEACH BBQ SAUCE     {PRINT THIS RECIPE}

    1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium red onion, finely minced
    1 tablespoon orange zest
    2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 can (15 ounces) diced, light peaches
    1 teaspoon minced ginger
    1 teaspoon ground mustard
    ½ teaspoon salt
    ¼ teaspoon black pepper
    2 tablespoons brown sugar
    ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
    1 cup ketchup
    ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
    1 tablespoon molasses

-In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, sauté the minced onion in the olive oil until softened slightly (about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally).
-Add in the remaining ingredients and stir well to combine.
-Continue to simmer on medium heat until the sauce has thickened slightly and has reduced in volume (approximately 25 minutes, stirring occasionally).
-Remove from the heat and use immediately or store in the fridge in a covered jar or container for up to one week. *Note - the sauce will thicken even more as it cools.
-Use this sauce liberally on chicken, beef, pork, and even fish.
-Works well as a dipper too. YUM!
