Chef's Salad with Capers and Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing
A chef's salad isn't something only to be eaten at restaurants. You can easily make this Chef's Salad with Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing at home with all the great add-ins and flavor you love!

Ingredients
To make the blue cheese dressing;
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ¾ cup blue cheese crumbled
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1½ teaspoons apple cider vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- pinch salt
- pinch black pepper
To make the chef's salad;
- 1 head iceberg lettuce torn into bite-sized pieces
- 4 ounces mozzarella cheese sliced and cut into chunks
- 4 ounces provolone sliced and cut into chunks
- 4 ounces Genoa salami sliced and cut into chunks
- 4 ounces ham sliced and cut into chunks
- 4 ounces turkey sliced and cut into chunks
- 1 cup grape tomatoes sliced in half
- 1 jar capers drained
- 3 hard cooked eggs quartered
- 1½ teaspoon dried basil
- 1½ teaspoon dried oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
To make the blue cheese dressing:
- Whisk or stir all the dressing ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl until combined and creamy. Adjust the seasonings if needed.
- Chill until ready to serve.
To make the chef's salad:
- Layer all the ingredients, starting with the lettuce and ending with the dried herbs, capers, and hard-cooked eggs.
Cover and chill until ready to serve, OR serve immediately with the chilled blue cheese dressing.
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Best if undressed before storing.
Not recommended for freezing.
