Irish Whiskey Glaze Recipe

Kick up your sauce or dipping game with this delicious Irish Whiskey Glaze. It's easy to make and packs a nice little kick of flavor to just about anything.

Ingredients

  • 1 jar (18 ounces) apricot preserves
  • ¼ cup Irish whiskey or more to taste
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Place the apricot jam in a small saucepan.
  • Add in the whiskey (¼ cup, or more to taste), lime juice, honey, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Bring to a low simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly.
  • Stir in the red pepper flakes, and cook, stirring occasionally for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and cool completely. *Note - the glaze will thicken slightly as it cools.

Notes

  • Cool completely and store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
