-In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the pork sausage with the olive oil until no longer pink.
-Add the red onion, salt, pepper, and garlic powder, stirring to combine.
-Turn the heat down to medium.
-Add the fire-roasted chilies, black beans, chili powder, coriander, cumin, red pepper, tomato paste, and crushed tomatoes.
-Stir well to combine and continue cooking for approximately 10 minutes (As it cooks down, it will thicken).
-Add the lime juice just before removing it from the heat and mix it thoroughly.
-In another skillet, over medium-high heat, toast the hamburger buns cut side down for a few minutes each.
-Spoon the Sloppy José mixture onto the toasted buns and garnish with the green onions and jack cheese (not shown).
