Before I started baking, I was a little intimidated to tackle this traditional German Bee Sting Cake. Our BFF’s have been to Germany many times over the years, and they’ve spoken so highly of this cake I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do it justice. Since I was gifting this cake to them for the many thoughtful acts they’ve done for us in the past, I especially wanted this cake to be amazing!
As soon as those the familiar bells from the ice cream truck started ringing, it was like time stood still, and all was right with the world. At least that’s what it seemed like when I was a kid, and I was eating my beloved toasted almond ice cream bars.

I thought about making this no churn chocolate cherry Kahlua ice cream for #SummerDessertWeek with just one layer of chocolate, using cocoa powder. However, after perusing my baking cabinet and seeing all half full bags of chocolate chips I had (yes, time to organize my cabinets), I decided to go all out and turn my recipe from a decadent chocolate cherry Kahlua ice cream to a super decadent TRIPLE chocolate cherry Kahlua ice cream! Is it so wrong? 😉
I made this Lovely Lemon Drop Cheesecake with Lemon Curd Topping to bring to a friend’s bridal shower. I thought it would be a pretty addition to the buffet table, and it would have a nice summery feel to it.
I wish you could have heard the oohs and aahs when I walked in with it. I’d never made such an entrance before, but then again, I’d never walked into a party holding such a showstopper cheesecake before, either! LOL!
