I decided to combine my raw cashews along with some roasted, salted peanuts for a depth of flavor you wouldn’t get with cashew or peanut butter alone.
In addition, I added some raw honey for a touch of sweetness and a small bit of macadamia oil to help make it creamy and unique.
The crust on this buttermilk honey bread is chewy and firm, but not at all tough. The tender interior crumb is light and airy yet and had great substance and structure.
When sliced and toasted, you’ll feel like you just bit off a little piece of heaven on earth. Can I get an Amen to that?!!
Before I started baking, I was a little intimidated to tackle this traditional German Bee Sting Cake. Our BFF’s have been to Germany many times over the years, and they’ve spoken so highly of this cake I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do it justice.
Since I was gifting this cake to them for the many thoughtful acts they’ve done for us in the past, I especially wanted this cake to be amazing!

Can I tell you a little secret? I’m the girl who rifles through the mixed nuts to pick out all the cashews before anyone else can get to them. I know, it’s not my best quality, but I just can’t seem to help myself. So, the moral of the story is…if you like the cashews best, get to the Browned Butter Sweet Smoky Roasted Nuts before I do! LOL
