If you’ve been following along then you know that the past several recipes I’ve posted have been in celebration of #Choctoberfest 2016. Since this will be my last post for this event (don’t worry, I’ll still be posting chocolate recipes from time to time), I’ve decided to go out with a bang! Today I bringing you my recipe for Chocolate Malted Peppermint Sweet Rolls with Chocolate Malt Icing. And, yes. They’re everything you’d hope they’d be!

I’m adding this recipe for Savory German Bratwurst Sauerkraut Strata with Pretzel Rolls to my list of Oktoberfest favorites. It […]
Chocolate Cranberry Quick Bread with Pecans comes together quickly, and it’s chock full of creamy, chewy and crunchy ingredients. It’s perfect […]
You guys, it’s apple season! Can you feel the slight chill in the air and the warm scent of cinnamon that is just about everywhere? Yeah, me either but I’m hopeful that it will happen soon. Even though it’s September, today in Illinois where I live the temperatures are supposed to be in the 90’s with a heat index in the 100’s. UGH! Oh well. Since there’s nothing I can do about the outside temperatures, I might as well make it feel like fall on the inside and cook up a batch of Slow Cooker Homestyle Apple Pear Sauce with Amaretto.
Store-bought puff pastry is truly a modern miracle for bakers everywhere. With a minimum effort and fuss, anyone can turn out impressive dishes or desserts that look like they belong in the front window of a bakery or French patisserie.
When you serve your family these Chocolate Cinnamon Breakfast Croissants, they’ll feel like they’ve just stayed at the finest Bed and Breakfast. Then, after they’re done eating, tell them to hit the road for the day so you can have the house to yourself. HaHa! Just like the finest Bed and Breakfast.
The reason I called this “Company’s Coming” Corn Flake Muffin Tin Crab Cakes is because they’re for those special occasions where you want to impress your guests. But shhh. Don’t tell them how easy they are to make. That will be our little secret!
This heirloom tomato salad is so good, so fresh, and so loaded with textures and flavors that will explode in your mouth with each and every bite. The crunch from the pistachios, the creaminess of the goat cheese, the sweet and oniony bite of the red onion, the savory earthiness of the fresh thyme, the mild and pungent fragrance of the garlic lemon olive oil, and of course the sweet and juicy garden fresh tomatoes.
Within my family, I’m the self-proclaimed queen of the egg sandwich. I think my husband and sons would concur, but you’d have to ask them to be sure. That said, many months ago I had this idea to take my famous egg sandwiches over the top to fabulous, and I came up with an idea for this egg sandwich casserole. And, if I do say so myself, it’s pretty darned incredible!!
If you’ve never made your own homemade croutons before I urge you to finally give it a go. The freshness, flavor, and crunch that a homemade crouton provides are about one million percent better than the prepackaged store-bought variety, and they hardly take any time (or effort) to make.
