Original Irish Coffee To Warm Your Bones

Kudos Kitchen By Renee - Original Irish Coffee Recipe

This winter has been one of the coldest on record and it's only January 25th! How will we ever make it through another two to three months of this bone chilling cold? Irish Coffee to the rescue! It's magically delicious!

Not only will this warm your bones, it will put a little pep in your step too! And who doesn't need that, my laddies? Shhh, that's Scottish. Don't tell :)

ORIGINAL IRISH COFFEE    {PRINT THIS RECIPE}
Serves: 1      Prep Time: 2-3 minutes     Age Requirement: 21 or older

1 cup freshly brewed, strong, hot coffee
1 tablespoon brown sugar (I used coconut palm sugar)
1 jigger Irish whisky (approximately 3 tablespoons)
whipped cream

-Pour the coffee into a footed mug, add the sugar and whisky and stir to combine.
-Top with whipped cream and serve hot.

And what goes better with original Irish coffee than the Irish claddagh? The symbol of love, loyalty and friendship. Long ago a friend of mine once told me it's meaning was this, "I hold your heart in my hands, and crown it with my love."  Priceless!

  1. I haven't had an Irish Coffee in years! If I had a few of these served to me this Winter I may have never want to get changed from flannel pj's, robe and slippers. Not to mention moving me away from a cozy fireplace would be a feat in itself. So looking forward to the end of this Arctic Vortex!!!
