It's been a very long while since I've posted about one of my painted glassware pieces. I was a little worried that most people found them boring and uninteresting so I kind of weened myself off from posting them here on my blog.
Then, a few weeks ago I asked the simple question on my facebook page "Are you interested in seeing me post about my painted pieces again?" and even though the question didn't bring in tons of comments, the resounding "yes" from those who did respond made me realize that I need to start showing them again. Now I just have to remember to have my camera by my side at all times and also remember to snap away, which I tend to sometimes forget as I lose myself in my work :)
Thank you all for your interest. I love what I do (cooking, baking and painting) and I especially love sharing every aspect with you! You keep this sometimes lonely work-from-home girl company and I am very grateful you are there.
This glass was inspired by a client who ordered the same design for a friend or hers but she ordered it with her friend's favorite book titles.
At the suggestion of a friend of mine, Renee of Freakin' Flamingo fame, I did another spin of the same glass only this time I painted them with some famous cookbook authors (only a small handful of the ones that first popped into my head) and I think the result is spectacular, if I do say so myself ! LOL
Please have a look as I "mug" for the camera with these two different glasses.
As I always say, "Due to the personal nature of any hand painted piece, slight variances in the design may occur."
I am proud and pleased to say that every item I produce is completely unique in it's own right and no two items are ever the same. Colors sometimes vary from piece to piece but the quality and attention to detail I put in never changes, and never will!!!
Colors make me happy :)
Can you spot the differences in the two separate mugs?
From here, the personalization and the authors/titles are painted on to book spines to complete the design.
So Many Recipes, So Little Time! Here is 360 degree look at the entire cook book author glass in it's completion.
With a final glaze coat and 10 days of cure time, this item is now completely dishwasher and microwave safe.
I don't know about you, but this design makes me smile. It is definitely one of my favorites! Who are some of your favorite cookbook authors? I'd love to hear. Please don't be shy about leaving some comments for me on this post. I always look forward to hearing from my readers!
